Kitchen
curtains are often overlooked, but are actually quite important to
the overall décor of your kitchen or dining area. While these
curtains are usually not anything too special by themselves, when
used to accentuate the rest of the items in the kitchen, they can
be helpful.
If you are unsure about whether to use curtains in your kitchen or
which kinds would work best, there are a few things that you should
consider to help you find your answer.
• How big is your window? – If you have a very large window
in your kitchen, then curtains are probably the right answer for you.
Even people who are personable and friendly don’t usually enjoy
spending a lot of time in front of a large window where they may feel
like they are being watched.
But, if the window in your kitchen is somewhat smaller, you may not
want to install a full curtain. Instead you could use a valance or something
similar to that. This will still allow the light in, but will also not
leave the window area bare.
• What is your kitchen’s dominant color? – The kitchen
curtains are not meant to draw attention to themselves. This means that
they shouldn’t be hideously ugly or overwhelmingly beautiful.
It is the job of these curtains to simply accentuate what is already
in the kitchen.
So, this means that if you have a white oven, refrigerator, sink
and dish washer, you would probably be best off getting curtains with
a good deal of white in them as well.
The kitchen curtains are not the most important piece of décor
a person can have in the kitchen, but still, if used effectively they
can enhance the attractiveness of the room.
