By
and large, kids furniture is a fun thing to have and is safe. However,
there are things that need to be double-checked to ensure that it is
always safe enough for all of the kids who hope to use it. Doing this
will keep your children secure and will give you peace of mind.
For example, kids recliners are one of the most popular items that
also can be dangerous. Because children are fascinated with things that
have moving parts, they are going to be touching them sooner or later.
Some of these reclining chairs are made without covers on the sides
or underneath. This could lead to pinched fingers.
Minimize the likelihood of a child getting his or her fingers harmed
by double-checking that the moving parts of a recliner are easily reached
and managed.
Another safety feature that needs to be checked is simply the size
of the chair. Small children need to be sure to get furniture that is
not too big for them. Keep in mind that kiids love to jump off of things,
whether we or not we approve.
By buying smaller furniture for smaller kids, they’ll have a
shorter distance to fall. Likewise, you need to make sure to replace
the furniture as the child grows. Trying to use the same furniture for
your 12-year-old that you used for him when he was 3 years old is certainly
risky (for both child and furniture.)
Unsafe conditions in kids furniture is rare, but it is always better
to be safe than sorry.
