If
you are not quite at the point where you have a lot of home furnishings
and you don’t own your own home or apartment, there is a decision
that needs to be made as you prepare to move to a new place.
The question: Should I find a place already with home furnishings,
or should I use my own. There are a couple of items of consideration
to think about before you make this decision.
• How much do you have? You need to ask yourself how many
items do you have already. If you have a lot and they would be difficult
to store, you may want to look into getting a place without these
items already.
But, on the other hand, if you don’t have much (or anything
at all), it certainly could be a step up for you to move into a place
that already has some items.
•How nice is the alternative? If you do have some nice, new
furniture and the home to which you are considering moving does as
well, you may be wise to just put the furniture in a secured storage.
Because the home to which you are moving is not your final destination,
you know that if you move your own home furnishings into it, you will
just have to move them out again. In order to be able to avoid accidentally
scraping or hurting your items, it may be best to simply not use them
until you have a home of your own.
However, if the home furnishings that are in the new rental are
old and unattractive, you may have no other choice but to use the
furniture that you already own.
